Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Runsense ("we", "us", or "our") provides an AI-powered running coach via SMS, email, and the Runsense iOS app.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Information We Collect
1. Information you provide
- Phone number
- Email address
- Messages you send to Runsense (e.g. how you feel, training details)
2. Strava integration
When you connect your Strava account, we collect activity data from Strava including:
- Activity type (e.g. run, trail run)
- Duration, distance, and timestamps
- Heart rate data (when available)
This data is collected via OAuth authorization (you grant permission through Strava's authorization flow) and webhook push events (Strava notifies us when you log new activities).
3. Apple Health (HealthKit) — iOS app only
When you use the Runsense iOS app and grant HealthKit access, we collect from Apple Health on your device:
- Workouts (activity type, duration, distance, timestamps)
- Sleep analysis (per-stage breakdown, total time asleep)
- Resting heart rate
- Heart rate variability (HRV)
This data flows from your device to Runsense via the iOS app's authenticated connection. The Runsense iOS app does not write back to Apple Health; we read only. Workouts that originate from a third-party app (e.g. Strava) writing to Apple Health are filtered out and not collected via this path — those are covered by the Strava integration above.
4. Automatically collected information
- Basic usage data (e.g. when messages are sent/received)
How We Use Information
We use your information to:

We do not use it to train, improve, or benchmark AI or machine learning models, nor do we use it for product analytics or aggregate research. It is retained as part of your training history; contact us to request deletion. No third-party analytics or advertising service receives Apple Health data.
